Medi-Cal applications for San Francisco residents are handled by the San Francisco Human Services Agency (HSA). You can apply online through the statewide BenefitsCal portal, over the phone, or in person.
Ways to apply
- Online: Create an account at BenefitsCal (https://www.benefitscal.com) and submit an application with proof of identity, residency, and income.
- Phone: Call SF HSA Medi-Cal Service Center at 415-558-4700 (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.).
