Alameda County residents apply for Medi-Cal through the Alameda County Social Services Agency (SSA). Applications are accepted online, by phone, or at local eligibility centers.
Submit an application
- Online: Use BenefitsCal (https://www.benefitscal.com) to complete an application and upload supporting documents.
- Phone: Call the Customer Service Center at 510-272-3663, Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
- In person: Visit SSA offices in Oakland (2000 San Pablo Ave), Hayward (24100 Amador St), or Livermore (3311 Pacific Ave).
SSA representatives will schedule an interview if needed and notify you about eligibility decisions. If you are already enrolled in CalFresh or CalWORKs, you may be fast-tracked for Medi-Cal.

- Report changes in address, household, or income within 10 days by phone or via BenefitsCal.
